welcome to the world (it’s a mighty fine world) and we have so many places here to see welcome to the world (we can make it our world) and we can live here together, you and me we can have some fun (if we clean up when we’re done) but today it seems a pity to stay in windmills caress the sky above (and you’ll always have my love) no matter where you go or where you’ve been I’ve been waiting to show you I feel so lucky to know you I hope this world won’t outgrow you, oh you Take my hand, walk with me through this land welcome to the world (it’s a mighty fine world) and we have so many places here to see (here to see) welcome to the world (we can make it our world) we can all live here forever, happily we can make it our world no more drowning in sorrow we found the brighter tomorrow such golden days can’t be borrowed, oh no take my hand... welcome to the world (it’s a very pretty world) though the beauty may be getting hard to find but someday when you’re grown (well I hope you will be shown) a world where you have faith in human kind welcome to the world welcome to the world..
2.
nobody knows your name but everybody knows your pain we’ve all lived it through everybody’s paid the price everybody sacrificed we know what to do when you started causing trouble you didn’t know but you know this next one’s double it’s time to go you moved again now you’re the old new kid in town it all begins now you’re the old new kid in town you started at another school and you were everybody’s fool but where did you go? but now they all know you’re name but do they play you’re game are they friend or foe?
3.
tell me so, oh tell me so run it down before you go we both know that something’s wrong and short goodbyes can take so long I’m holding up my head above all the things we said and everywhere we go it’s like a july snow falling all around you’re here and gone again turn off turn on again words that I’ll never say haunt my mind every day I watched your phoenix rise and make ashes of my skies whats left of you and me another casualty tell me so, oh tell me so worse for wear, the scars still show and time is kind to those who wait but my heart showed itself way too late and I’m holding up my head above all the things we said and everywhere we go we feel the july snow falling all around the day has dawned again and we’ll soldier on again and some old used-to-be will sink into the sea you burn the bridge I cross I count it as a loss and you won’t count on me I’m another casualty
4.
They say no one should call on you Unless She's your permission to But me, I just came anyway I couldn't care less what you say 'Cause I know you from long before You hid behind a stained glass door And walked around And looked your old friends up and down But anyway, I thought I'd come give you a look At where you're from and let you know I still recall what a child you are underneath it all You remember me the funny way I cry The funny way I sit there when someone says goodbye The funny way I wind up lost when someone sets me free Why sure, you remember me Well, I won't take up your whole day I've said about all I have to say I guess I'll be moving on I know you'll be glad to see me gone Tonight is our last night in town So don't worry 'bout me hanging around Tomorrow night it's Calgary And you'll be good and rid of me You remember me the funny way I cry The funny way I sit there when someone says goodbye The funny way I wind up lost when someone sets me free Why sure, you remember me But anyway, I thought I'd come give you a look At where you're from and let you know I still recall what a child you are underneath it all You remember me the funny way I cry The funny way I sit there when someone says goodbye The funny way I wind up lost when someone sets me free Why sure, you remember me

feeling so down head in the ground can’t hear a sound (can’t hear a sound) if I were you if you were me how would it be (how would it be) tired of running races circling useless places but if the fates allow we’ll bid them farewell for now we’re going back to the place we used to know now we’re going back home again now we’re going back to the place we used to know now we’re going back where we belong safe from the pain of crying in vain and puddles of rain (puddles of rain) fell in too deep I felt like a creep watching you sleep (watching you sleep) longing for gentle faces we’re ready to slow our paces don’t worry ‘bout why or how we live in the here and now
6.
caged inside a wounded soul watch me run, I’m on a roll birds of prey above my head I think of everything you said but I still listen through the wire I’m dancing in your friendly fire and it’s all mistaken by design I never meant to be unkind so misleading watch me bleeding I’m waiting for a sign I’m waiting for a sign I’m waiting for a sign I think that I can make it up this time screaming into future’s past wonder if this thing will last tripping fairies in your bed left me hanging by a thread you jump ahead, I hesitate I know you tried to set me straight and I lost you in the by and by gone with the wind, my empty sky keep repeating watch me bleeding

running in circles catching lightning in bottles lost in my mind like a child can't put this wild fire out can't help but bleedin' and holdin' my heart while it's beatin' its only my world that you're stealin' don't wanna stop it now falling stars still shine ooo it's all up to you and i'll be a fool if you want it that way ooo i'm breaking the rules it's all i can do to get you to stay there's nothing behind me but glimpses of you to remind me who knew that darkness was blinding and keeping me under your spell falling stars still shine ooo it's all up to you and i'll be a fool if you want it that way ooo i'm breaking the rules it's all i can do to get you to stay falling stars still shine ooo it's all up to you and i'll be a fool if you want it that way ooo i'm breaking the rules it's all i can do to get you to stay ooo to get you to stay

Coming up on another sound I felt too young for this old town Jaded love wears a thorny crown Don't it make your blue eyes brown CHORUS: There by the light of the living room I watched it all go down Somebody always speaks too soon Whenever you come 'round I've been waiting for someone to show me the way There by the light of the living room I felt you slipping away I was warmed by your gentle touch Tell me, did I surrender too much I kept my promise through day and night I used to know what was wrong or right CHORUS: There by the light of the living room I watched it all go down Somebody always speaks too soon Whenever you come 'round I've been waiting for someone to show me the way There by the light of the living room You had to ruin my day When I woke up you were crying bitter tears that made me feel like dying Is it too late to kiss and make up We've been together too long to break up CHORUS: There by the light of the living room I watched it all go down Somebody always speaks too soon Whenever you come 'round I've been waiting for someone to show me the way There by the light of the living room I felt you slipping away There by the light of the living room I watched it all go down Somebody always speaks too soon Whenever you come 'round I've been waiting I'll be waiting until the end of time Here by the light of the living room I'm going out of my mind (There by the light of the living room) 'Said I'm going out of my mind (There by the light of the living room) I'm going out of my mind (There by the light of the living room) I'm going out of my mind (There by the light of the living room)

PART I: here on this mortal coil we shared a little time savior you were a friend of mine gaze in the watchful eyes of the beholder I was in the frontline you were over my shoulder wanted to be assured of your intensions with me I’m on the diving board springing for sanity smile for the crowd as you shake my hand and now you’re sitting in with another band can I feel your arms around me as I struggle for a breath and sigh do you believe in a life hereafter can we really ever say goodbye my insecurity might be the death of me and I’’ll rewrite these lines into infinity and the midnight wind whispers through your hair saying goodnight noises everywhere and there’s a feeling that enshrouds me as I glimpse your spirit passing by I’ve never been afraid of dying tell me, are we really saying goodbye PART II: never knew where to go you were everybody’s foe where have you been Now you’re all better now it didn’t matter anyhow it’s time to begin When you started causing trouble You didn’t know and you know this next one’s double it’s time to go But I still listen through the wire I’m dancing in your friendly fire... Doors will slam and rooms will spin Hearts will break and break again PART III: As all the lives you’ve spoken fade from recent memory I’m still a different kind of broken and you have no use for me PART I REPRISE: We ventured way too far off the charted course stumbled into bed fresh off some high horse We sugarcoat it all if our friends ask questions lay the blame on my bad sense of direction So let’s put up a fight for another night this stream of consciousness sure feels alright I can find some comfort in a world turned colder when I’m in the front line and you’re over my shoulder Second chances for second guesses buy us time until we die our lives shift around other people’s messes to pay the bills before we’re saying goodbye Welcome to the world...

about

REVIEWS:

"Emerging from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the Lunar Laugh has regularly been coined a power-pop act. But by no means does the band restrict themselves to one style. And the proof is right here on Goodnight Noises Everywhere, their third and latest album for Kool Kat Musik, which captures them pursuing a variety of sounds.

Poised and confident, the Lunar Laugh certainly has the luxury to diversify. Their vocals are warm and friendly, and their songs are well-written, solidly-sculpted and delivered with finesse.

“Waiting for a Sign” whirls and swirls with hypnotic hip hop beats, and then there’s “Welcome to the World,” a picture-perfect pop song basking in rays of sunshine emitting sparkling hooks galore. Springing and ringing with electricity, boosted by some cool guitar gestures, “Old New Kid in Town” hangs tight as another radio-ready pop rock prize.

Blinking piano passages, tugging melodies and roving breaks appear on the inventive “Saying Goodbye” and “By the Light of the Living Room” nails power-popping chords to a roots-rock backdrop with sterling effects.

The Lunar Laugh’s knack for country music surfaces frequently throughout Goodnight Noises Everywhere, with the arresting “Tell Me a Story” specifically standing tall among such selections.

Along with banks of blissful Beach Boys-inspired harmonies, Goodnight Noises Everywhere calls up images of Bread, America and the softer aspects of the Eagles. The Lunar Laugh make doing what they do seem easy, because they’re so natural and simply go with the flow.

Spilling over with songs producing a wide range of emotions, Goodnight Noises Everywhere balances beauty and grace with classic power pop moves in fine fashion. The Lunar Laugh has what it takes to fly far, and this great album demonstrates how talented and ambitious they are."
- Beverly Patterson, Something Else

"The third full-length release from this Oklahoma-based quartet is definitely their best yet: it brims with sweet, relaxed vocals, memorable tunes, and arrangements that ebb and flow with grace and precision. The power pop sureshots include the lovely, harmony-filled “By the Light of the Living Room” and the Rundgren-esque “Welcome to the World,” but the more measured, slower-paced numbers hit the spot as well: “You Remember Me,” “Where We Belong” and the acoustic-based “Lightning in Bottles” are all wonderful examples of the band’s top-tier songcraft."
- John Borack, Goldmine Magazine

"Another Casualty is worthy of appearing on the best Fleetwood Mac albums... From this journey through some of the most colorful pages in American musical history, The Lunar Laugh manages to bring out a work that is constantly pleasing and often brilliant."
- Matthieu Grunfeld, Section 26
